May 1 - 7, 2016 is ‘Let No One Be Alone Week’, a grassroots initiative started in Manitoba that brings awareness to those that are alone. A & O: Support Services for Older Adults is proud to have three programs that address isolation under our pillar of Social Engagement:
- Senior Centre Without Walls will host a conversation about ‘Let No One Be Alone Week’ with older adults across the province on Friday, May 6th from 10:00 -10:30 am via teleconference. To register, please call A & O at 204-956-6440 or toll-free 1-888-333-3121.
- 135 socially isolated older adults living in Winnipeg will receive home visits and phone calls from volunteers in the Connect Program during 'Let No One Be Alone Week'.
- More than 200 older adult newcomers will attend A & O's Entry Program during the week of May 1st - 7th.
